Until now, we have delivered CARRY THE SUN to communities overseas that live without electricity and to those in disaster-stricken areas in Japan who feel vulnerable due to limited access to electricity.
This time, the donations were made to eight children's medical centers nationwide.
Many children across the country live with intractable diseases, frequently entering and leaving hospitals, or residing in hospitals for many years.
For children with long-term hospitalizations, their school, friends, and entire life shift within the hospital walls.
There are many dedicated volunteers who provide necessary play and emotional care to these children, and offer meals and rest to their accompanying families.
We donated CARRY THE SUN to children battling illnesses and their families, as well as to the hospitals and volunteers who support them.

Through these organizations, a total of 110 CARRY THE SUN lights were delivered to eight children's medical centers nationwide, as follows:

Okinawa Prefectural Southern Medical Center & Children's Medical Center: 10 units
Kanagawa Prefectural Children's Medical Center: 20 units
Shizuoka Children's Hospital: 20 units
Aichi Children's Health and Medical Center: 20 units
Miyagi Children's Hospital: 20 units
Saitama Children's Medical Center: 7 units
Fukuoka City Children's Hospital: 10 units

We conducted "Snoezelen," a relaxation activity using sensory stimulation like visual and olfactory senses, during playtime for infants with disabilities, utilizing CarrytheSun.
* It's waterproof and wipeable, which is hygienic and good.
* It's lightweight, so even small children can easily hold it.
* The brightness was just right.
* It's easy to use in Snoezelen activities.
* It's good that no batteries are needed.

Yesterday, we held a Christmas party, which we called a "Fun Party," at our hospital.
We used the solar lanterns at the party, and they were very well received.
This time, we made boxes out of colored paper and placed the lanterns inside so that letters would appear.
Here are some of the comments we received:
"It's solar-powered, so it's great because it can be used anywhere."
"Each one blinked and had a strong presence."
"It's compact, so it seems useful for various events."
"It created a wonderful atmosphere with decorations unlike anything we've had before."
These were some of the comments. In particular, the fact that no power outlet is needed is a great help for the safety of children's movement.

Our nursing staff is using them.
Two units have been placed in each of the 10 wards.
During night rounds, patients may have felt uneasy because they couldn't see the nurse's face with just a penlight.
Since it's a soft, diffused light, it seems to work well even when placed by the bedside of a patient who can't sleep, as it's not too bright.
Also, since it's solar-powered and doesn't require electricity, some wards keep it as an emergency preparedness item.
We considered using it for decoration, but since it's an excellent product, we opted for a practical use.
