This beeswax candle is a collaborative creation between "Kanazawa Yamagishi Apiary" in Kanazawa and Takazawa Candle.
"Melissa" means "honeybee" in Greek.
It was named out of gratitude to honeybees.
● The origin of Japanese candles lies in beeswax candles.
In the 8th century, they were brought from Tang China by Kentoshi (Japanese envoys to Tang China). Beeswax is still stored as a treasure in the Shosoin Repository in Nara.
It arrived across the Silk Road along with Buddhism and culture.
The roots of Takazawa Candle's Japanese candles are also connected to this. Let your imagination wander through the romance of history.
● The candle is shaped to evoke the traditional tatewaku-mon pattern, known as a lucky charm for "rising fortunes."
● These Japanese candles are made from 100% natural wax secreted by honeybees to build their nests. Because the wax is very viscous, a bright flame burns stably. The color and scent of beeswax change depending on the type of flowers visited by the bees.
Take a moment to relax with the gentle light of nature's bounty. The 1/f fluctuation of Japanese candles will bring healing to your mind and body.
The candles are the natural color of the beeswax. The color and scent may vary depending on the type of flowers visited, the harvest year, and the passage of time.
