Yamanaka Lacquerware Spoon Set of 2 (Hanayome Noren Original)

This Yamanaka lacquerware spoon set comes in red and black. It was certified as a recommended Ishikawa Prefecture tourism souvenir product for the 2020 fiscal year.
The design is inspired by the "Hanamoya Noren" (bride's curtain), a tradition that remains in Noto. It combines both elegance and cuteness. The shape has a soft curve designed for smooth transport to the mouth.
Since it has a gentler feel in the mouth than metal spoons, it can be safely used by children.

<What is the Hanayome Noren?>
The "Hanayome Noren" is a wedding custom that began in the 1800s in Noto, Kaga, and Etchu, which were once territories of the Kaga Domain, and continues to this day.
Before the wedding ceremony, the bride passes through the Hanayome Noren hung at the entrance of the Buddhist altar room in her new husband's home. After greeting her ancestors, she proceeds to the ceremony venue.
Most Hanayome Noren are beautiful and expensive one-time luxuries made with Kaga Yuzen dyeing. After the wedding, they are stored deep in a chest of drawers and are not seen by the general public.
