Reason for Participation
With the concept of "kind to everyone, kind to the Earth," we use organic and fair trade ingredients to create all our dishes from plant-based sources only. We minimize the use of plastic products and started a restaurant that considers health, the environment, and society, and before we knew it, seven years had passed! It is said to be a miracle for a vegan restaurant to last more than five years in the difficult restaurant industry. In reality, we often struggled with losses, continued to operate in the red, and accumulated more debt. Furthermore, with the added burden of the COVID-19 pandemic, I almost lost heart many times. I seriously thought, "This is impossible, I should just give up and go back home." Nevertheless, thanks to a sudden boom, various customers, acquaintances, family, and relatives, we have miraculously been able to continue the restaurant to this day. I am full of gratitude to everyone who has supported us. Thank you very much for believing in greenery!!
The activities we have been engaged in have been difficult to see and convey. How should we communicate them? We didn't want to be preachy, and how could we make these activities more naturally visible? This has been a challenge since our establishment. So, at the seven-year mark, we decided to start a new initiative with the cooperation of Landport Co., Ltd., which runs the wonderful BUY ONE GIVE ONE® program. BUY ONE GIVE ONE® is an empathy-based social contribution program born from the idea of "what's good for me is good for someone else." The light from a solar lantern bought for oneself is delivered to someone in need of light in disaster-stricken areas or un-electrified regions, lighting up each other's hearts—it's such a gentle activity. Therefore, at greenery, as an activity that we can continue for a long time without strain, we decided to donate one solar lantern for every 100 smoothie bowls sold! Until now, customers have enjoyed greenery's smoothie bowls because they are "delicious," "healthy," or "good for the environment." From now on, a new added value will be "light delivered to someone else."
This is not a form of contribution where only a few customers donate, but one where all those who enjoy greenery's smoothie bowls can naturally contribute to society. We believe it will be a wonderful activity that satisfies both mind and body. We ask for your continued support for greenery as we enter our eighth year!
