Purpose of Use
Normally, we hold the market during the day, but in summer (July-September), we hold a "Night Market" starting in the evening as the sun begins to set.
We plan to use it as lighting to illuminate the booths of the various vendors and the market venue itself.
Reason for Adoption
The impetus came from a referral by "Yoimame Coffee," a self-roasted coffee shop that exhibits at Kusatsu Farmers' Market.
Yoimame Coffee has been participating in a coffee cultivation project in Chin State, Myanmar since 2018, and they spoke to our market staff about the situation in Myanmar.
I, along with the other vendors who heard the story, adopted Buy One Give One with the hope of being able to help the people in Myanmar who need light, even in a small way.
Comment from the Person in Charge
The night market starting in July will be bustling with many people. We hope that the light from these lanterns will illuminate the smiles of the market vendors and visitors, and also the smiles of children and families in Myanmar.
